About the Campaign

This is my role-playing group's play-through of the classic 3.0 D&D adventure The Red Hand of Doom from way back in 2007. The campaign ran the full length of levels 4-10, and took us over two years to complete.

We played the entire campaign via Fantasy Grounds, so all die rolls and character dialogue and actions were preserved in the chatlog. I dug the old chatlog up on my computer one day and this project was born.

I have cleaned up and restructured some of the parts of the narrative, but overall the dialogue and actions as presented are what my players actually said and did.

The PCs

Throrin Ironhand- Dwarf Cleric of Moradin (Doug Burbank)

Son of the Thane of the Hammerholds and technically a dwarf prince, Throrin nonetheless dedicates himself to martial pursuits, in charge of guarding his father's caravans as they meander the roads out of the southern mountains and into the surrounding human towns of Elsir Vale. Short of temper and foul of mouth, Throrin serves his god and his people with unfailing loyalty and dedication.

Keith Waxloor- Human Wizard (John Risley)

A handsome young prodigy from the Free City of Greyhawk, Keith came to the city of Brindol in Elsir Vale to assume tutelage under the master wizard Immerstal the Red. Clearly on his way to the top ranks of his arcane fellows, Keith maintains a casual air and demure smile that puts those around him at ease.

Corrigan Scarlett- Human Rogue/Ranger (Deven Anderson)

An exile from a distant homeland, Corrigan is now little more than a wanderer drifting the paths of life. Always in the wrong place at the wrong time, Corrigan only hopes to pass each new day a little bit better than the last one.

Draggert- Half-orc Barbarian (Patrick Hercamp)

A wayward tribal half-orc, Draggert has traveled all over the wilds of the Vale since he was very young. Normally soft-spoken and kind, Draggert typically scares others with his massive size and hideous appearance.

Valandil- Elf Fighter/Wizard/Arcane Archer (Chris Dobbins)

A haughty elven wanderer and master of both bow and magic, Valandil is hard to impress. He conceals his mysterious past and motivations behind a calculating demeanor.

The Setting

The story takes place in Elsir Vale, a small valley set in the Greyhawk D&D world.
